There is a special beauty in elements repeated in a consistent, predictable manner. Polka dots and stripes, houndstooth, and grids are our everyday patterns and we love them for their simplicity and strong graphic looks. But intensive patterns can be built with many more shapes than dots and lines. I’m thinking of crazy, unusual graphics when you can find jellies and strawberries, microscopes and nerdy glasses, fantastic pastel dragons, colorful pills and plasters… or even human brains. It’s always huge fun to create and then wear or decorate a house with those kinds of exceptional items.
